The Persian Garden, as one of the manifestations of Iranian art, is not merely an aesthetic phenomenon but also a philosophical text rooted in Iranian-Islamic wisdom. Understanding the essence of the creation of the Persian Garden through a profound recognition of its underlying spiritual concepts can contribute to a more accurate understanding of the identity-defining principles of these gardens. This study aims to elucidate the influence of the theoretical principles and ideas of Mulla Sadra’s Transcendent Philosophy (Hikmat al-Muta ‘Aliyah) on the creation of the Persian Garden and seeks to answer the question of how the architecture of the Persian Garden can be interpreted based on the principles of Transcendent Philosophy. The present study is fundamental-theoretical research focusing on the influence of philosophical thought on the creation of the Persian Garden, employing a descriptive-analytical approach based on logical reasoning. In the content analysis of philosophical texts, particular emphasis was placed on Transcendent Philosophy, followed by an examination of the principles of the Persian Garden to identify the relationships between the foundations of Transcendent Philosophy and the formation of the Persian Garden through four fundamental principles: the Primacy of Existence, the Unity of Being, the Gradation of Being, and Substantial Motion. The findings indicate that, across different historical periods, the Persian Garden has sought to create a spiritual, sacred, and contemplative environment through an emphasis on the philosophical principles of Transcendent Philosophy. This spirituality is manifested at multiple levels, ranging from theoretical foundations and spatial organization patterns to physical and sensory manifestations, directing the design toward the Divine Essence and the truth of existence. Accordingly, the Persian Garden, in its essence, is not merely an assemblage of aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces, but rather an embodiment of divine thought and the manifestation of meaning within matter.
