Comprehensive Journal Policies

The Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research is unequivocally committed to fostering a transparent, equitable environment grounded in the principles of scientific ethics for all stakeholders. The ensuing policies delineate the legal and operational framework governing the activities of this journal:

1. Peer Review Policy

This journal strictly employs a “Double-blind Peer Review” process. In accordance with this protocol, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the evaluation process to preclude any potential personal, ethnic, gender, or institutional biases. The final editorial decision is reached exclusively following meticulous scrutiny by the Editorial Board, predicated upon the specialized reports provided by the reviewers.

2. Research Ethics & Integrity

The journal exercises rigorous oversight to ensure compliance with ethical principles and strictly adheres to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing any instances of academic misconduct. Any violation in the following domains will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript and the blacklisting of the offending author(s):

• Plagiarism: The appropriation of another’s work or ideas without precise and lawful attribution.
• Self-Plagiarism: The republication of an author’s own previously published research without proper citation.
• Data Fabrication/Falsification: The invention, manipulation, or misrepresentation of experimental results and data.
• Simultaneous Submission: The concurrent submission of a single manuscript to more than one journal.

3. Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members are mandated to transparently disclose any relationships or affiliations (whether financial, academic, or personal) that could conceivably compromise the objectivity of the peer review or publication process.

4. Access & Intellectual Property

The Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research champions an “Open Access with Author Rights” model. This journal is published under the international Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC), which permits others to share and utilize the material, provided that the original source is properly cited. The intellectual property and moral rights of the articles remain vested in the authors; however, upon acceptance of a manuscript, the right of first publication (Version of Record) is granted to the journal. The journal reserves the right to utilize the published materials for academic and educational purposes.

5. Financial Transparency and Article Processing Charges (APC)

To cover a portion of the administrative and manuscript evaluation expenses, the Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research collects approved fees in accordance with the regulations established by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology:

• Submission and Initial Evaluation/Review Fee: 1,500,000 IRR
• Final Acceptance and Publication Fee (APC): 3,000,000 IRR
