Architecture is an interdisciplinary field that engages with diverse domains, contexts, and concepts. It spans human perception, action, and experience while interacting with cultural, historical, geographical, and local conditions. Architectural inquiry also intersects with art, technology, meaning, and aesthetics. Hence, reflection and intellectual growth within architecture require the support of a wide range of methods, perspectives, and forms of knowledge. Books, scholarly writings, and academic journals have each contributed to this endeavor by advancing understanding and supporting researchers in the field.
The Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research seeks to explore the concepts and foundations of architecture, the formation of architectural space and human environments, and the spatial and environmental characteristics associated with them. To achieve these goals, the journal encourages the use of scientific, empirical, philosophical, and anthropological approaches. Particular attention is given to the climatic and geographical context of northwestern Iran in order to foster scientific, philosophical, theoretical, and practical research relevant to the region and beyond.
