Initial Manuscript Screening The first step of the evaluation process is the manuscript screening. At this stage, the article is evaluated based on the journal’s policies and structural standards (including Title, Keywords, Affiliations and details of the Corresponding Author, Structured Abstract, Background, Objectives (optional), Methods, Results, Discussion, References, and Acknowledgments). If all the aforementioned criteria are met, the manuscript will proceed to the peer review process. Otherwise, it will be returned to the author(s) for corrections and resubmission. Peer Review Process The Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research (JAER) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Submitted manuscripts must report original research and will be reviewed by at least two expert reviewers selected by the Editorial Board. If the manuscript fails to adhere to the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines, it will be summarily rejected upon receipt. Decisions are made as expeditiously as possible, and the journal strives to provide authors with the reviewers’ feedback within 5 weeks of manuscript receipt. A manuscript returned to the author for revision must be amended and resubmitted to the Editor-in-Chief within a maximum of 14 days (two weeks). Otherwise, it may be treated as a new submission. Under exceptional circumstances, editors may grant an extension for the revision deadline. The Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief will re-evaluate the revised manuscripts and communicate the final decision (acceptance or rejection) to the author(s). Acceptance Process Timeline (Total: 9 Weeks) The Journal of Architectural and Environmental Research (JAER) aims to reach a final decision (acceptance or rejection) precisely within 9 weeks post-submission.
