The evolution of architectural education in Iran with the formation of academic education at the University of Tehran and Shahid Beheshti (National University of Iran)

Abstract
At a time when architecture education in Iran was realized only through traditional teacher-student education and in practice (education in which the teacher transferred his experiences to his student in practice), only some architects taught sciences such as geometry, arithmetic and astronomy in classrooms. Communication with the West and sending of students to study in Europe was begining of changes in architectural education in Iran. Therefore, the first steps to teach architecture academically to shape the current educational system are very important. The events that led to the formation of university education and with the establishment of the University of Tehran in 1319 and the National University in 1339. The purpose of this article is to investigate the educational developments in the field of architecture from the formation of academic education to the contemporary period in the two mother universities (University of Tehran and Shahid Beheshti), the factors affecting the current education process. Therefore, the present study uses an applied approach with the method of historical collection and survey and the use of library tools and field study, as well as interviews with Dr. Iraj Etesam and Saed Samiei as professors of both universities at the beginning of its establishment, to examine the factors affecting makes architectural training. The research findings indicate that after the establishment of the Fine Arts Campus with the establishment of the National University (Shahid Beheshti) and other universities in the country, architecture education became popular academically and The University of Tehran, as the mother university, became a model for many faculties of architecture And then there were changes in the educational process that led to the multiplicity of educational methods that will be addressed.
